LOGISTICS AND COMPLIANCE SUPERVISOR

Position Summary: The Logistics and Compliance Supervisor adds value to BAPI and Materials Team by overseeing daily logistics activities and ensuring compliance with trade, transportation, and company regulations within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for coordinating the movement of goods, managing shipping documentation, and supporting regulatory and quality compliance across inbound and outbound operations.

Logistics and Compliance Supervisor Principle Responsibilities:

Logistics Oversight:

1. Supervise day-to-day shipping, receiving, and transportation activities to ensure accurate and timely delivery of raw materials and finished goods
2. Coordinate with internal departments (production, purchasing, inventory) to support manufacturing and delivery schedules
3. Monitor carrier performance, track shipments, and resolve issues related to delays, damages, or documentation to ensure just-in-time (JIT) delivery and minimal downtime
4. Support the implementation of logistics cost-saving initiatives and continuous process improvements
5. Ensure proper use of ERP, WMS, or TMS systems for tracking inventory and shipments

Compliance Support:

1. Maintain accurate import/export records and ensure compliance with customs, trade, and transportation regulations (e.g., ITAR, EAR, DOT)
2. Prepare and review shipping documentation (BOLs, customs declarations, certificates of origin)
3. Assist in compliance audits, and corrective action implementation relating to logistics.
4. Ensure adherence to internal policies related to safety, hazardous materials handling, and quality standards
5. Train team members on compliance-related procedures and documentation accuracy

Maintains industry knowledge by attending educational workshops or classes; reviewing related publications; establishing networks

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed, including special projects and tasks as delegated supervisor

Requirements

Education Requirements (R/Required, P/Preferred):

(P) Associate degree, Trade or Technical School

Degrees Preferred: Logistics, Supply Chain, Procurement, Business or related field (or equivalent experience)

Training, Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Specific Training in this field (R/Required, P/Preferred):

1. (R) Working knowledge of transportation regulations, trade compliance, and international shipping practices
2. (R) Proficient with ERP and logistics systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, WMS/TMS)

Experience/Knowledge in this field (R/Required, P/Preferred):

1. (R) 3+ years of experience in logistics, shipping/receiving, or compliance within a manufacturing environment
2. (R) Supervisory or team leadership experience
