Research Consultant

Cision is a global leader in PR, marketing and social media intelligence, and the Professional Services team helps clients extract actionable insights from Brandwatch and related platforms. The Research Consultant will lead bespoke consumer and social media research projects, manage client relationships and project teams, deliver strategic recommendations, and help evolve research methodologies and visualizations.

Skills

  • 5+ years commercial research experience, ideally in consumer insights or social media research
  • Strong data analysis skills across quantitative and qualitative approaches
  • Ability to craft compelling narratives and create innovative data visualizations
  • Advanced competency in Excel (formulas, pivot tables, charting), PowerPoint and Word
  • Project management and account management experience
  • Excellent business writing, presentation and client communication skills
  • Comfort learning and using new analytics/software tools
  • Experience with social listening tools (Brandwatch or similar) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Own a portfolio of Strategy & Insights accounts and serve as strategic consultant
  • Manage development, execution and delivery of custom research projects
  • Lead and coordinate project teams of analysts and freelancers
  • Oversee client communication and ensure on-time, on-target delivery
  • Perform complex quantitative and qualitative data analysis to answer business questions
  • Review and edit client deliverables for substance, accuracy and presentation
  • Scope commercial proposals, pricing, discovery and delivery plans
  • Present findings to internal and external audiences and represent the team in meetings
  • Develop new methodologies, visualizations, integrations and tools to enhance research capabilities
  • Support upskilling and mentorship of junior team members
  • Maintain knowledge of Brandwatch products and industry research trends

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, social sciences, statistics, or related field (typical)
  • Master's degree or advanced coursework in related discipline preferred but not required
