Skills
- Design and implementation of GraphQL and REST APIs
- Strong system design, data modeling, and performance optimization
- Experience with caching and queuing systems (Kafka, Redis MQ, etc.)
- Hands-on AWS experience and cloud-native architecture knowledge
- Proficiency in at least one backend language (Go, Python, Node.js, etc.) and openness to Elixir
- Observability and monitoring best practices (metrics, tracing, logging)
- Experience building scalable, production distributed systems
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and scale backend services and APIs (GraphQL and REST) powering Boulevard’s ecosystem
- Develop performant, fault-tolerant systems using caching, queuing, and asynchronous processing
- Implement and operate event-driven architectures with tools like Kafka and Redis MQ
- Collaborate with infrastructure engineers to evolve cloud-native architecture and observability on AWS
- Lead projects end-to-end from ideation to deployment, ensuring technical quality and timely delivery
- Proactively identify issues, propose solutions, and drive continuous platform improvements
- Mentor and support engineers to foster technical growth and a culture of learning
- Demonstrate ownership over code quality, collaboration, and execution; influence technical direction
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent practical experience
- Continued learning and demonstrable hands-on experience with backend systems and cloud services
