As a Technology Intern within HNTB's Digital Transformation Solutions Team, you’ll have the opportunity to work closely with our talented tech team. You’ll gain hands-on experience, contribute to real-world projects, and learn from industry experts. This internship is designed to provide exposure to various aspects of technology within the transportation industry, including software development, data analytics, asset management, resiliency, geospatial solutions and more.
As an intern, you’ll have the opportunity to learn and grow, so don’t worry if you don’t know everything right away. Be curious, ask questions, and take advantage of the learning experience!
Relocation and housing are not provided for this position.
What You’ll Do:
- Assists project team members with various support tasks.
- Conducts basic research and data collection.
- Maintains records, collections and files related to specific projects.
- Assist in the development of graphics, presentation materials and reports.
- Performs other duties assigned.
What You’ll Need:
- Enrolled in a related undergraduate or graduate program
What We Prefer:
Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for technology.
Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Angular, React, C#, C++).
Familiarity with databases, cloud computing, or networking concepts.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

The approximate pay range for Illinois is $22.61 - $33.91. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as physical work location within the state..
