Wealth Advisor

The Wealth Advisor is responsible for managing existing client relationships, formulating and implementing advice, and will begin to develop new client relationships.  This position will often work with, train and lead other team members in client service delivery. Responsibilities include: data gathering, modeling, case design, scenario building, plan development, and presentation development and delivery. This position will participate in client meetings and often lead delivery of advice.  This position will also involve working cross-departmentally with other Boulay Departments to effectively accomplish projects and tasks.

Financial Planning

  •    Prepare client financial plans and presentations for review by Senior Wealth Advisors and Partners
  • Deliver financial plans to clients either independently or with a Senior Wealth Advisor or Partner
  • Gather, organize, and synthesize client data within a financial planning context
  • Prepare and present financial scenarios
  • Initiates and proactively drives the financial planning process
  • Assist with tax planning and compliance
  • Research technical issues
  • Provide planning recommendations and communicate them effectively with the advisor and/or client

Client Service & Relationship Management

  • Lead client relationship development and management, including regular client contact, communications, and meetings
  • Manage client services, including financial planning processes, investment implementation strategies, planning updates, portfolio changes and reviews, and new opportunity identification
  • Assist in the portfolio management process
  • Assist with 401(k) Plan marketing and servicing
  • Strong adhearence to established standards, processes, and procedures including meeting prep, meeting follow-up, portfolio management, and billing
  • Prepare documents for client meetings
  • Prepare and navigate financial planning software prior to and during client meetings
  • Lead development of client communications
  • Manage correspondence with service providers, including resolution of service requests
  • Communicate with advisor or clients when necessary to initiate or follow-up on planning engagements
  • Assist with continuous improvement of operational processes and procedures
  • Conduct at least six client prospect meetings, ideally with at least one additional team member
  • Identify and communicate potential cross-sell opportunities

Required: 

  • College Degree
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Series 65
  • CPFA, CMT, CFA, CFP or CPA
  • Ability to creatively solve problems and analyze client data 
  • Ability to delegate, supervise, and review work of less experience staff 
  • Ability to be flexible to changing circumstances and client needs 
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Expertise with financial planning software 
  • Supervisory or work delegation experience
  • Thorough understanding of general stock market, mutual fund, financial planning, and economic terminologies with a firm grasp of the financial planning process.


The annual salary range for this position is: $87,000 - $130,000. This salary range reflects the anticipated responsibilities and qualifications of a successful candidate for this role. Final compensation may vary depending upon an individual’s experience, knowledge, and skills. Individuals may be eligible for additional compensation in the form of incentives, commissions, profit sharing, and more, depending on the role.
