This roll is in our ‘Center of Excellence’ of light commercial Rooftop air-conditioning and heat pump systems at Norman, Oklahoma. 

        As part of Engineering Team, this role interfaces regularly with design engineers. It is responsible to forecast part, process and product cost in new product development and generate cost ideas through VAVE techniques. It requires to monitor the product cost throughout product development from ideation phase to execution.

This roll is in our ‘Center of Excellence’ of light commercial Rooftop air-conditioning and heat pump systems at Norman, Oklahoma. 

As part of Engineering Team, this role interfaces regularly with design engineers. It is responsible to forecast part, process and product cost in new product development and generate cost ideas through VAVE techniques. It requires to monitor the product cost throughout product development from ideation phase to execution.

1. Cost modelling & Should Costing of parts like sheet metal, tubing, Evaporator, Condenser, Motors, Controls, etc. in early phase of design and monitor the cost till implementation. Estimation of assembly cost and HVAC Product cost.
2. Explore Value Engineering VAVE, cost modelling and variance analysis to identify cost opportunities. Suggest best cost design and ‘Make Vs Buy’ Analysis. Provide baseline cost to procurement team for effective cost negotiations.
3. Competitive Benchmarking, Teardown and Should Cost Analysis. Do the Best-Of-Best Analysis to identify best cost product. Initial scoping of cost projects and analysis.
4. Interact with Cross-Functional Teams to identify cost drivers. Develop material cost tables based on historical information using parametric estimating methods and statistical analysis techniques
5. Applies cost estimating techniques and processes to create, improve and maintain accurate and precise cost models with Excel spreadsheets or aPriori or Teamcenter software. Work closely with India Engineering Center for cost modelling.

1. Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
2. 3+ years of experience in cost modelling in design, operations or supply chain. Experience and knowledge of HVAC or any sheet metal manufacturing industry processes & products preferred.
3. Proficient in reading BOM/cost structure analysis. Knowledge of manufacturing processes like press work, bench press, brazing, pipe bending, etc. Ability to read and interpret drawings for costing purpose.
4. Knowledge of Cost modelling softwares like aPriori, Teamcenter, etc.
5. Knowledge of Value engineering techniques (VAVE) is plus.
6. SAP, ProE/Creo and Windchill is preferred.
