The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking Entry Level and Associate Structural Design Engineers  (Level 1 and Level 2) to join the Air Vehicle Engineering team located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Position Responsibilities:(Level 1)

• Assists with documentation of structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design.
• Assists with development, maintenance and modification of payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
• Assists with tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
• Assists with management of supplier development, test and production activities to optimize the design and achieve program goals.
• Works under close supervision.

Position Responsibilities:(Level 2)

• Assists to develop, integrate and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design.
• Develops, maintains and modifies basic structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
• Performs tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
• Assists with supplier development, test and production activities and coordination with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals.
• Supports investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
• Works under general supervision.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
• Exposure to mechanical and/or structural design
• Exposure to creating, executing, reviewing, and managing structural design models
• Exposure to working conceptual, preliminary and detailed design including 2D drawings and 3D deliverables
• Exposure to reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
• Exposure to in CAD/CAM software (CATIA V5, SolidWorks, Siemens NX)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Active U.S. Secret Clearance
• Experience validating or verifying structural models
• Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills
• Experience with structural design principles for aircraft primary structures, secondary structures, interior payloads
• UPR/MRB experience in commercial derivative platforms
• Experience with analytical, communication and problem-solving skills

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only.  Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: Entry Level $60,350 – 81,650

Summary pay range: Associate $70,550 – 95,450
