Choe Lama, the Intellectually Curious and Ambitious Analyst

Meet Choe Lama, a graduate from The Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine, with a BA in Business Administration, specializing in Finance.

His journey from the Himalayan Regions of Nepal sparked a passion for understanding the role of finance in economic prosperity. With professional experiences as a Legal Analyst apprentice and an Investment Analyst Intern, Choe is committed to leveraging his expertise to drive financial innovation and growth.

👋 Get to know Choe Lama

I'm a driven Finance / Investment professional with a BA in Business Administration from the Paul Merage School of Business at University of California, Irvine, where I specialized in Finance and minored in Political Science. 

My passion for finance and investment stems from my upbringing in Nepal’s economically challenged Himalayan Region. As a first-generation student, raised amidst extreme poverty and under the care of a foster/ group home,  I developed a keen interest in understanding the economic factors contributing to a region's prosperity. I have come to understand that a robust financial system, that facilitates effective capital deployment, is essential for a community’s prosperity. Just as a plant needs fertile soil to thrive,  a well-functioning financial system enables ideas to flourish, changing the world in the process. 

During my internship as an Investment/Research Analyst at Pathway Capital Management, I got to immerse in the dynamic world of private equity fund-raising, where I witnessed how strategic investments can breathe life into promising ideas. Inspired by this experience, I am applying similar fundraising tactics to support my non-profit organization, perspectified.org, dedicated to unlocking the potential of Himalayan children.

During my apprenticeship at Ko Law Group, I delved into the intricate world of business and commercial law. While performing due diligence and assisting in crafting legally sound management frameworks, I gained profound insights into the legal intricacies that functions as the foundation of a successful business operations. 

Outside of work, I'm an avid reader and enjoy pushing my physical and mental limits through running, having completed notables ones like the San Francisco Full Marathon and a Pro-am Ultra Cross-Country Run (35 miles) back in Nepal. As I explore opportunities, I'm excited to leverage my diverse background and dedication to excel in the dynamic world of finance.
