The Role

We’re looking for a Senior React Native Engineer to own our mobile product development and lead the technical direction of Berry Street’s patient and provider apps. This is a hands-on role — you’ll spend the majority of your time building, shipping, and improving high-quality mobile experiences. You’ll partner closely with our engineering, product, and design teams to define the roadmap, architect scalable solutions, and ensure a smooth app release lifecycle across iOS and Android. This is not a people management role. We’re looking for a senior IC who codes deeply, thinks holistically, and leads by example.

• Own mobile app development end-to-end: from architecture to release on the App Store and Play Store.
• Design APIs and database schemas that power a smooth and performant mobile experience.
• Build and scale our core React Native app, ensuring it’s fast, reliable, and delightful to use.
• Implement mobile development best practices around testing, CI/CD, versioning, and monitoring.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Clinical Ops to translate user needs into exceptional product experiences.
• Drive architectural decisions that balance speed and scalability as we grow.
• Lead by doing: review code, mentor peers, and set the standard for mobile excellence — all while staying headphones-on and shipping.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: 3–5 years building and scaling mobile applications, with deep experience in React Native.
• Technical Mastery: Strong in React, TypeScript, and mobile-specific concerns (navigation, performance, native modules).
• Full-Stack Awareness: Proficient in API design, database architecture, and integrating with backend systems (REST/GraphQL, PostgreSQL).
• App Release Lifecycle Expertise: Hands-on experience managing App Store and Google Play deployments, versioning, and over-the-air updates.
• Best Practices Advocate: Deep understanding of mobile development lifecycle, testing, analytics, and continuous delivery.
• Product Thinker: Writes code with empathy for end users and appreciation for clinical, operational, and patient contexts.
• Team Player: Energizes the team through collaboration, humility, and a focus on outcomes.

Bonus Points For:

• Experience with Expo, Fastlane, or native module integration.
• Familiarity with Nest.js and AWS.
• Prior work in healthtech or other regulated domains.
• Curiosity about AI/LLMs and how they accelerate development and user experience.

• The base pay range for this role is $165,000–$225,000, depending on experience and location.
