Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end design, implementation, and delivery of high-impact full-stack features (React + Python).
- Make foundational technical and architectural decisions to improve performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, customer success, and other engineering teams to align on goals and shape user experiences.
- Identify, prioritize, and remediate technical debt; refactor critical systems for maintainability and developer velocity.
- Optimize backend performance and frontend responsiveness for complex scientific workflows and large datasets.
- Mentor and coach other engineers, participate in onboarding, pairing, and knowledge sharing.
- Elevate code quality through strong testing, reviews, documentation, and engineering best practices.
- Operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-changing scientific domains and take ownership of outcomes.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in a relevant field is a plus but not required
- Domain training in chemistry/biotech is beneficial but not required
