Base is building the foundation of American power. The grid is the largest, most complex machine in the world. Yet it’s aging, struggling to keep up with today’s demand, and is unprepared for our electrified future.
Base is modernizing the grid as the first engineering-led, technology-driven power company. We’re deploying a nationwide network of distributed batteries that strengthens critical infrastructure and saves Americans money.
Our team of engineers, operators, creatives, technicians, and electricians design and deploy systems at speed. If you want to tackle the problem that will define this century and shape the future of American energy, now is the time. Join us.
We are seeking a world-class operator to own one of Base’s most important partnerships – those with our critical hardware suppliers.
As the primary point of contact with multiple suppliers, you will represent Base in all interactions and be accountable for the success of the relationship. That means driving volume growth, unit economics, and quality outcomes while ensuring our supplier stays motivated to deliver high quality parts on-time at scale.
What You’ll Do
Ramp supplier lines from early prototyping through full-scale production, ensuring readiness across equipment, staffing, and processes.
Embed deeply with supplier teams to manage projects hands-on – working side by side on a daily basis to troubleshoot issues, drive execution, and keep production on track at every stage.
Serve as Base Power’s main point of contact at the supplier, facilitating clear communication across Base hardware, manufacturing, and logistics teams, and maintaining alignment on quality, timing, and deliverables.
Partner closely with suppliers to identify and resolve technical issues impacting quality, cost, or throughput in real time – acting as a thought partner to develop tooling, fixtures, and quality processes that keep production efficient and scalable.
Own outcomes end-to-end to ensure on-time delivery of capital equipment and production capacity.
What You'll Bring
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
3+ years of experience in supplier industrialization or manufacturing engineering, preferably in the consumer electronics, automotive, or energy sectors.
Demonstrated knowledge of multiple manufacturing methodologies, including injection molding, CNC machining, PCB/PCBA, stamping, and assembly techniques.
Proven project management skills - able to drive multiple initiatives concurrently and maintain clear accountability with external partners.
Strong communication and documentation habits, with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, operations, and supplier teams.
Willingness to travel frequently - the most effective supplier relationships are built face-to-face.
We’re building a winning culture and we’re looking for people who are up for the challenge. Here’s what we expect from day one:
In-Person Only: We work full-time in the office. No hybrid. No remote.
Challenge the Status Quo: Question assumptions. Fix broken systems. Principles > rules.
Move Fast: Focus on what matters, act quickly, and learn by doing.
Give & Get Feedback: Be direct, be humble. Challenge ideas–including your own.
Own the Outcome: Take full responsibility. Deliver results. No excuses.
Act Like an Owner: Be resourceful, mindful of impact, and committed to the business.
Be Decisive: Drive clarity. Make bold calls with imperfect info.
Bring the Intensity: This is not a 9-to-5. We're building something hard which requires real commitment.
