This role is part of Austin Energy’s Corporate Quality Services (CQS) team, an internal consulting group dedicated to partnering with various business units, functional organizations, and vendors to enhance the value and delivery of products, services, and information.
Purpose:
Under general supervision serves as a subject matter expert related to continual improvement activities which includes quality assurance, process improvement and risk mitigation activities within the organization.
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:

Supports projects related to the development of improvement of organizational programs, processes, and systems.
Uses quality assurance methodologies to assist with current state analysis assessments.
Conducts continuous improvement projects for business units within the organization.
Supports risk mitigation evaluations to improve organizational performance.
Conducts assessments of organizational systems and processes.
Supports project teams and organizational change efforts.
Conducts continual improvement training.
Supports the organizations quality center of excellence.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of process improvement methodologies.
Knowledge of performance measure development analysis.
Knowledge of applicable City of Austin, State, and Federal statutes, ordinances, and codes.

Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in a field related to the job, plus four (4) years of experience related to the job.
Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification may substitute for two (2) years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated success in leading and mentoring continuous improvement initiatives.
Demonstrated success in leading complex enterprise-wide projects.
Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining Quality Management Systems (QMS).
Strong ability in data analysis and visualization to identify risks, uncover process inefficiencies, and generate actionable insights.
Experience in building a Quality Center of Excellence and Community of Practice.
The successful candidate may hold certifications such as PMI-PMP, PMI-CAPM, Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt, ASQ-COE/QM, ASQ-CQE, or have the ability to initiate the process to obtain one or more within six (6) months of employment.
Pay Range: Entry: $38.70 - Mid: $49.13 (Effective 9-21-25)
Schedule: 8:00AM - 5:00PM - 60% COA telework policy
