UR Specialist (FT, AM shift)

Pay range: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
We are looking for an UR Specialist to join our Utilization Review Department.

The UR Specialist's responsibilities includes review medical records, treatment plans, interpret admission and continued stay criteria for concurrent authorization with insurances; and coordinate medically necessary and appropriate mental health services to our patients.

Aurora Charter Oak Hospital has been delivering Behavioral Health Treatment Services for over 83 years. We are located on 10 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds in Covina, California. Covina is about 22 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, in the San Gabriel Valley, close to 10, 60 and 210 FWY.

Education & Experience:
- Current California LVN or LPT license
- Experience in insurance terminology preferred
- Experience in healthcare, psychiatric setting preferred
- Flexibility; attention to detail; able to comprehend psychiatric evaluations, consults, lab results, etc.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, evaluative, and time management skills; policy interpretation skills; familiarity with applicable standards and regulations
- Responsiveness to deadlines and persistence; able to work with minimal direction or supervision
- Current BLS healthcare provider card required upon hire
- Therapeutic Options™ training to be obtained prior to providing direct patient care without a preceptor
