Structural Analyst, Space
Skills
- Strong knowledge of statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, and material properties
- Experience with CAD tools such as NX or Solidworks
- Proficiency in MATLAB or Python for modeling, data acquisition, and automation
- Ability to perform autonomous work and define requirements for ill-defined problems
- Knowledge of structural testing and data post-processing techniques
Responsibilities
- Support new space hardware programs from concept to launch as a structural analyst
- Quantify and document load cases and environmental conditions
- Perform stress analysis using first order and advanced methods to determine strength and safety margins
- Execute hand calculations, spreadsheets, and MATLAB/Python models for preliminary analysis
- Develop computational models and simulations to predict dynamic environments and structural responses
- Collaborate with hardware engineers and guide design decisions based on analysis
- Prepare technical reports and present findings to teams and customers
- Support design, test instrumentation selection, execution, and data processing for validation tests
- Lead trade studies and mass optimization efforts
- Ensure compliance with customer requirements, regulations, and safety standards
Education
- Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or applied physics focused on structures
