Skills
- Proficient in C++ and/or Python software development
- Experience with sensors: radar, sonar, LiDAR, and cameras
- Expertise in computer vision, sensor fusion, SLAM, motion planning, or ML
- System-level ownership: requirements, roadmap, stakeholder management
- Simulation and testing experience for algorithm validation
- Ability to define and execute V&V and safety-oriented validation strategies
- Mentorship and cross-team collaboration skills
- Eligible to obtain and maintain U.S. Secret clearance
Responsibilities
- Own multi-year software roadmaps and deliverables for perception and planning across stakeholders and platforms
- Architect, design, implement, and maintain perception, sensor fusion, and motion-planning stacks
- Select and integrate sensor suites (radar, sonar, LiDAR, cameras) and define interfacing requirements
- Develop and validate algorithms using simulation and real-world data; evolve data-analysis tooling
- Lead technical teams or act as senior IC owning end-to-end system delivery and lifecycle sustainment
- Define and implement verification, validation, and safety strategies for navigation and collision avoidance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, systems, software) and external partners
- Travel to co-locate with users or teams as required (up to ~20%)
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Advanced degrees in relevant fields preferred but not required
