Staff Software Engineer, Air Defense
Skills
- 10+ years building software systems using languages such as Python, C++, Rust, Go, JavaScript
- Strong experience with React and JavaScript/TypeScript for front-end development
- Experience designing and implementing data processing and analysis pipelines
- Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex, established codebases and systems
- Proven debugging, monitoring, and incident response experience for deployed systems
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end software solutions deployed to customers, from design through operational sustainment
- Write, review, and maintain production-quality code to scale mission capability
- Collaborate across product, engineering, operations, and mission teams to plan, build, and test complex features
- Create, instrument, and analyze metrics and logging used for debugging and monitoring deployed systems
- Triage incidents, root-cause failures, and coordinate remediation and follow-up actions
- Partner with end users and mission operators to translate needs into features while balancing UX and system constraints
- Support field builds, tests, and deployments (travel up to 30%) and iterate based on operational feedback
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent experience
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in a relevant field preferred but not required
