Skills
- Deep knowledge of unmanned aircraft and/or autonomous robotics systems
- Proven experience driving rigorous software development, validation and verification
- Track record delivering software from prototype to production
- Strong program and portfolio management across technical and budgetary constraints
- Experience leading cross-functional teams spanning embedded, simulation, C2 and cloud software
- Customer-facing experience with executive-level communication
- Ability to decompose complex systems, define scope, timelines and milestones
- Ability to obtain and maintain DOD clearance
Responsibilities
- Define vision and long-term delivery strategy aligning customer intent, technical roadmap, and business outcomes for the Altius line
- Build, grow and run a dedicated software discipline focused on end-to-end delivery of complex customer programs
- Lead program execution across system design, software development, integration, testing, deployment and sustainment
- Manage program budgets, customer spend, and transition efforts from R&D to production, ensuring revenue and schedule outcomes
- Own a portfolio of software-driven programs including customer-funded and IRAD efforts
- Attract, retain, mentor and develop top software and robotics engineering talent
- Coordinate cross-functionally with product, hardware, systems, and customer stakeholders to set scope and milestones
- Represent the program and organization to senior customers and internal executives with strong interpersonal gravitas
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- Advanced degree (preferred) in relevant technical field
