Product Quality Engineer - Aerostructures
Skills
- Knowledge of aerospace quality standards and QMS (AS9100/ISO9001-based principles)
- Experience with inspection, metrology, and measurement systems analysis
- Root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA) expertise
- Familiarity with mechanical and composite manufacturing processes
- Proficiency with CAD tools (NX, SolidWorks, CATIA) and ability to review drawings
- Data analysis and metrics generation skills (statistical tools, data mining)
- Supplier quality coordination and production support experience
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute quality plans, work instruction reviews, inspection protocols, and verification/validation for composite and metallic aerostructures
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to resolve production ambiguities and ensure product maturity
- Lead NPI-to-production transitions to achieve predictable, rate manufacturing
- Coordinate incoming part/material acceptance processes with Supply Chain and supplier quality
- Lead Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA), MRB activities, and verify effectiveness of corrective actions
- Define and track quality metrics and predictive indicators of performance
- Support continuous improvement and maintain elements of the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Manage qualification activities including PPAP/FAI, measurement methods, inspection methods, and acceptance test plans
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field (required)
- Advanced degree in engineering or related discipline (preferred)
