EO/IR Systems Engineer
Skills
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or C++ for analytical toolchains
- Experience with EO/IR modeling software such as MODTRAN, SPIRITS, or AFSIM
- Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) knowledge like Cameo or SysML
- Strong laboratory skills including experimental design
- Ability to analyze and decompose complex sensor systems
- Competency in radiometric performance modeling and environmental effect predictions
Responsibilities
- Adapt and derive physics-based models of sensor system performance
- Define system architectures through detailed trade studies and analyses
- Support laboratory-based and field-based experiments and demonstrations
- Lead and manage small engineering teams as necessary
- Design and execute hardware testing to characterize system performance
- Engage with hardware, software, and mission teams for system integration
- Validate performance models with laboratory and real-world data
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders across technical backgrounds
Education
- Relevant degree in engineering or related technical field
