Requirements:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
5-10 years experience in engineering or operations
English language required
Background Investigation by AES and DCSA required
Professional Engineering License preferred or Subject-Matter-Expert
Responsibilities:
Directs, coordinates, and executes technical investigations, engineering economics studies, operating studies, designs, tests, long range plans, forecasts, cost estimates, computations, inspections, inventories, and reports as may be required for the completion of assignments
Responsible for planning all activities to ensure the safe, reliable and economic operation of the Company’s electric transmission and distribution system located at WPAFB.
Manage all maintenance activities at WPAFB.
Manage all engineering functions for WPAFB.
Directs AES management and union employees working at WPAFB.
Manage response and restoration efforts due to equipment failures at WPAFB.
Develop annual 5-year capital budget plan for WPAFB including resiliency initiatives.
Supplier/vendor management for capital and O&M projects
Coordinate planned outages with base personnel and AES Ohio including developing switching plans for planned and forced outages.
Manage customer interface with WPAFB for new constructions and or equipment removal.
Counsels’ customer regarding Company technical and commercial policies and the application of designs and equipment of high complexity.
Keeps informed on the latest developments and techniques pertaining to electrical overhead and underground distribution systems.
Serves as a professional representative of the Company, as assigned
Desired Qualifications:
Utility and/or Power Systems experience.
Team player Strong analytical skills, leadership, and communication skills Proficient presentation skills, diplomacy and facilitation skills covering large and small group forums ranging from technical to non-technical audiences.
Highly motivated self-starter with the ability and willingness to take initiative
Strong understanding of electrical engineering concepts such as reliability, load flow, stability, short circuit, voltage regulation, transients, power factor, losses, etc.
