AECOM is actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Transportation Modeler – Travel Demand to join our dynamic team supporting Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise in Ocoee, Florida. This is an exciting opportunity for a transportation planning professional with a strong background in travel demand modeling to contribute to high-impact infrastructure projects that shape the future of mobility across the state.
This Senior Transportation Modeler will be responsible for the application of the recently developed statewide tour-based model along with the application of regional travel demand models. The job duties include fulfillment of scripting requests for innovative toll project evaluations while contributing to a multidisciplinary team specializing in planning, economic feasibility analysis and design of toll roads.
Additionally, this role will utilize skills and experience to create and update model code for travel demand model development including, but not limited to, the following: Visum, TransCAD, QGIS, R, and Python software, as well as large language models (LLMs).
As the Senior Transportation Modeler you will have the opportunity to assemble and prepare data for model validation and long-range future year travel forecasts; model validation to required accuracy standards; development of forecasts for toll road projects; and documentation of results. As part of the model design will use QGIS/ArcGIS with related database development and application knowledge, along with SQL/Python/R or other programming languages. This role will also utilize analytical skills for research on design, data development, and statistical analyses to address perceived model shortcomings and recommend an improved modeling approach.
