The team is seeking a Temporary Paralegal to provide essential support on ongoing matters, ensuring timely case management, document organization, and communication with clients and counsel.
About the Role
The Paralegal will work directly with attorneys to assist in case preparation, filings, and document review. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This is a temporary position—ideal for someone looking to contribute immediately with strong organizational and legal administrative skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, proofread, and organize legal documents, correspondence, and contracts.
- Conduct legal research and summarize findings.
- Manage case files, calendars, and deadlines across NJ and NY jurisdictions.
- Coordinate filings with courts and government agencies (both electronic and in-person as needed).
- Assist in preparing discovery materials, exhibits, and case summaries.
- Support attorneys during hearings, depositions, and closings.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with all firm protocols.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree; Paralegal Certificate preferred.
- Experience: 2+ years of paralegal experience, ideally within New Jersey and/or New York courts.
- Strong understanding of local filing procedures and legal terminology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines independently.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and legal management software (e.g., Clio, LexisNexis, or similar).
