Acquisition.com is on a mission to make real world business education available to everyone.
At Acquisition.com, we don’t just hire for open roles—we hire for impact. If you’re exceptional at what you do and align with our core values: competitive greatness, sincere candor, and unimpeachable character, we want to know you.
We’re hiring a Project Manager II to help streamline execution across a small, high-output tech team building systems powered by AI and automation. In this role, you’ll be responsible for keeping projects moving forward with clarity, speed, and minimal drag—ensuring contributors can focus on their zone of genius without losing visibility into what matters most.
You’ll work closely with the CTO and team leads across Engineering, IT, and Tech Ops, helping to structure workflows, surface risks early, and reduce the need for rework. You’re not expected to architect the company’s project strategy, but you are expected to take full ownership of planning, tracking, and delivering cross-functional projects with a high degree of independence.
This is a strong mid-level role—perfect for someone with a few years of experience who’s ready to level up and operate as a trusted execution partner on a lean, fast-moving team.
Translate priorities into action plans: You’ll take high-level goals from the CTO or functional leads and break them into structured, trackable, and time-bound workstreams—without relying on other people to tell you how to do it.
Design and evolve right-sized systems: You’ll continuously refine lightweight tools and workflows (e.g., Notion, Linear, custom AI integrations) that improve execution clarity without becoming overhead. You know how to keep things simple and scalable.
Maintain a steady operational rhythm: You’ll ensure there’s always a clear cadence for how work is planned, tracked, and communicated across teams—whether that’s through async check-ins, updates, or a smart dashboard that eliminates the need for status meetings.
Surface risk early and often: You’ll track signals across engineering, IT, and operations to identify blockers or misalignments before they turn into bigger issues—then take the initiative to bring solutions, not just problems.
Drive accountability across contributors: Without needing positional authority, you’ll ensure deadlines are respected, scope stays tight, and priorities are visible—creating a culture of follow-through through clear communication and quiet pressure.
Leverage AI-native tools to reduce friction: You’ll be expected to explore, test, and implement AI tools (e.g., Notion AI, automation bots, LLM-powered task planning) to eliminate repetitive PM tasks and streamline status visibility.
Communicate clearly, constantly, and contextually: You’ll tailor communication to the audience—giving high-level summaries for leadership, detailed checklists for technical teams, and cross-functional updates for stakeholders.
Act as a force multiplier for the CTO: You’ll help translate strategic intent into clear execution plans, manage comms between stakeholders, and handle the operational details so the CTO can focus on system design and innovation.
3+ years of experience in project or program management, ideally in a high-growth environment.
Clear evidence of running independent projects involving multiple stakeholders or cross-functional teams.
Comfortable using and adapting modern project management tools (Linear, etc.) and AI-enhanced workflows.
Excellent written communication and a knack for structuring chaos into clean, simple next steps.
A working knowledge of Agile/Scrum/Kanban—but more importantly, the judgment to use what fits and skip what doesn’t.
A bias toward action, autonomy, and proactive problem-solving.
Bonus: experience supporting AI-driven or technical product teams, even if you’re not technical yourself.
Clear plans, priorities, and deliverables are always visible—no one’s asking “what’s happening?”
Projects move smoothly from idea to done with minimal surprises or backtracking.
Status updates are short, sharp, and actionable, not a meeting in disguise.
The CTO has more leverage and less context-switching thanks to your ownership.
Small issues get handled early, before they turn into big ones.
You’ve earned the trust of engineering, ops, and IT as someone who makes their work easier, not harder
