Skills
- Production cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Strong Python and PySpark development skills
- Experience with Databricks and Spark-based ETL at scale
- Practical knowledge of the FHIR standard and FHIR data stores
- Proficiency with SQL and data modeling
- Familiarity with Airflow and ETL orchestration
- Experience with APIs, connectors, and data ingestion patterns
- CI/CD and deployment automation experience
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and operate high-performance cloud solutions meeting US healthcare security standards (AWS/Azure)
- Build and maintain large-scale ETL/data processing pipelines using Databricks, PySpark, and SQL
- Develop and integrate FHIR data workflows and APIs (ingest, read, and normalize FHIR-based data)
- Implement and maintain CI/CD deployments for data and service code
- Use and extend connectors and tools such as Airbyte and data connectors
- Operate and troubleshoot Airflow workflows, ETL jobs, APIs, and data connectors
- Investigate and remediate client incidents; perform root cause analysis and preventive improvements
- Optimize processing performance and cost across data workflows
- Review peer designs and code; provide technical mentorship and drive engineering best practices
- Identify technical investment areas, prioritize with stakeholders, and lead implementation efforts
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline (preferred)
- Equivalent practical experience in lieu of degree will be considered
