Quality Assurance Manager

9th Way Insignia is a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business delivering cybersecurity, cloud modernization, software development, data analytics, enterprise IT, and AI solutions to government customers. We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead QA strategy and execution for software and data initiatives, validate data integrity across systems and the Data Warehouse, and build and mentor a high-performing QA team while ensuring compliance with security and contractual requirements.

Skills

  • 4+ years in Quality Assurance management with demonstrated leadership
  • Proficiency in quality management and improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean)
  • Experience with manual and automated testing strategies and tools
  • Familiarity with data validation and Data Warehouse testing
  • Defect tracking and test-case management experience (e.g., JIRA or similar)
  • Strong written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven ability to define metrics and report QA performance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive QA plan and keep it updated throughout the task order lifecycle.
  • Validate and ensure data integrity from source systems through the Data Warehouse and downstream products.
  • Track, report, and manage defects; perform quality control and analysis to meet acceptance criteria.
  • Create and implement QA strategy aligned with company policy and project goals.
  • Establish and monitor IT quality standards and metrics; generate regular QA performance reports.
  • Oversee development and execution of test plans, test scripts, and test cases for software validation.
  • Manage both manual and automated testing processes and tools.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve QA processes and methodologies.
  • Hire, train, evaluate, and mentor QA team members to ensure team cohesion and growth.
  • Collaborate with IT project managers, developers, and business stakeholders to meet quality objectives.
  • Communicate QA progress, risks, and results to senior management.
  • Identify quality risks in releases and develop mitigation strategies; lead issue investigations and resolution.
  • Maintain comprehensive QA documentation and test outcome records.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
  • OR Associate’s degree plus 4 years relevant experience
  • OR 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
