- Proven experience building and scaling distributed systems and large-scale data platforms
- Strong cloud experience (AWS or GCP) and infrastructure-as-code practices
- Deep familiarity with data pipelines, ETL/ELT, and event-driven architectures
- Experience with healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7) and HIPAA compliance
- Expertise in CI/CD, observability, monitoring, and reliability engineering
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams, set technical direction, and execute strategically
- Customer-facing experience to translate customer requirements into technical solutions
- Familiarity with AI/tooling to enhance developer workflows
Responsibilities
- Define and evangelize the technology vision and translate product goals into scalable architecture and execution plans.
- Build, lead, and scale engineering teams across backend, platform, CloudOps, and data engineering.
- Own platform reliability, performance, observability, and uptime for mission-critical systems.
- Drive adoption of engineering best practices: CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, and reliability engineering.
- Guide integration of AI-powered tooling and automation to improve developer productivity and system observability.
- Partner with product, services, and compliance teams to deliver HIPAA-compliant solutions and platform governance.
- Engage with customers and partners to understand performance requirements and integrations.
- Define and track engineering OKRs and metrics to measure system health and team productivity.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) preferred but not required
