Skills
- Proven experience building and operating large-scale data pipelines
- Strong programming in Java and/or Python with production experience
- Expert-level SQL and data modeling skills
- Hands-on experience with streaming platforms (Kafka, Flink) and CDC tools (Debezium)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and container orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with data warehousing and lakehouse technologies (Snowflake, Trino, Iceberg preferred)
- Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform) and observability tooling
Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain production-grade data pipelines (ETL/ELT) for batch and real-time workloads
- Implement streaming solutions and change-data-capture workflows using Kafka, Debezium, Flink or similar technologies
- Optimize cloud data infrastructure for performance, cost and scalability (AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform)
- Collaborate with analytics, product and business teams to define data models, schemas and self-service data access
- Improve data quality, latency, observability and monitoring of data flows
- Contribute to platform architecture, code reviews, CI/CD and operational runbooks
- Mentor team members and share best practices for data engineering and platform reliability
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Advanced degree (MS) in a related field is a plus
