Responsibilities

Program Overview

Youth Villages’ Residential Treatment programs serve children with emotional and behavioral problems.  Our residential campuses provide the setting for an intensive treatment program that combines the unique balance of structure and freedom. This enables children and their families to identify, understand and cope with their individual needs and develop the skills necessary to succeed in less restrictive settings.  We have three different types of facilities—Intensive Residential Centers, Open Campuses, and Group Homes. Located in Tennessee and Georgia, all of these facilities utilize the Re-Education of Emotionally Disturbed Children therapy model (Re-Ed). 

Position Overview

• Serves as on-call backup for counselors.
• Assists Clinical Manager/Assistant Director with supervision of counselors, assigns caseloads, maintains policy, professional growth, and quality of service with the professional services department.
• Assists Clinical Manager/Assistant Director in monitoring intake information, discharge planning information, step-down and internal referrals, customer service issues, move breaks, and information for managed care activities.
• Maintain clinical caseload including all requirements for youth’s case.
• Participates in treatment team meetings, monitors youth goals.
• Works with the Clinical Manager and Program Managers in matters pertaining to major critical events.
• Approves weekend or trial visit passes.
• Plans the appropriate placement of residents in consultation with the treatment team.
• Reviews referrals and works with the Placement Services Department to place youth.
• Informs staff of pertinent developments within Families.
• Ensure that external appointments are communicated to the appropriate staff.
• Provides liaison services with the Department of Human Services, Mental Health, and other community/state resources to ensure appropriate support services to residents and their families.
• Assist and train counselors in all areas of treatment assessments, treatment plans, and therapeutic interventions.
• Monitors activities of clinical consultants to ensure counselors follow up on assignments.
• Ensures the proper assembly and timely completion of documentation for residents' charts.
• Assists in periodic evaluations of program policies and procedures.
• Maintains, presents, and tracks data/case updates and quality of activities of the clinical department under the direction of the Clinical Manager/Assistant Director.
• Assists counselors with staffing, CFTMs and any UR reviews or meetings.
• Works with the Clinical Manager/Assistant Director and other supervisors in planning, leading, and carrying out an ongoing in-service training program for staff.
• Monitors admission and discharge process to ensure adequate utilization of resources and to maintain projected census. Monitors clinical documentation and ensures completion and quality.

Salary

$62000 - $65000 / year based on education and clinical license

Requirements

A Master's degree in a social services discipline is required Must be willing to pursue licensure with supervision provided One year of counseling experience is required Experience in a residential setting is preferredExperience working with at-risk youth is a preferredExperience working with youth is requiredExcellent written, verbal, and oral skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyBasic computer knowledgeAbility to maintain a flexible schedule
