The Role: AI Engineering with Results at Scale

We are looking for an ambitious engineer with solid software fundamentals who is ready to join us in shipping cutting-edge AI features that drive results at scale. As an AI Engineer here, you will be instrumental in the expansion and maturation of our core AI capabilities. This is a high-speed and creative position tailored for engineers who thrive on tackling genuinely novel problems and delivering measurable results from day one.

You Will Work On:

• High-Scale Voice and Text Agents: You will advance our existing, successful agents and work with other fast-moving AI startups to integrate cutting-edge capabilities.

• Generative AI Expansion: You will assist in prototyping, validation, and adoption of generative AI features for both customer-facing and internal scenarios.

• Emerging AI Challenges: You will help with the development of new ways to deploy sophisticated agent evaluations and model management frameworks. You will help chart our course forward in rapidly evolving areas like Voice AI evals.

• AI-Native Software Development: As AI continues to overhaul how software is built, you will contribute to innovations in the way we safely build software in this new world.

The Stack and Evolution

We balance core Software Engineering, which includes hardening AI systems, with Applied AI Research, where there is no established playbook.

• Current Tech Stack: We primarily utilize AWS, TypeScript, and Python.

• Your Influence: You will help choose the right tools for the job. You will not just inherit a legacy codebase, you will help chart the path forward and play a role in deciding the models, frameworks, partners, and evals we build on top of.

What We Are Looking For

2+ years of Software Engineering experience, as well as:

• Engineering Foundation: You have experience shipping value to users, going through the full software development lifecycle, and using a modern language like Python, TypeScript, Go, Java, or C#.

• Desire for Ownership: You must have the desire to operate autonomously and eventually assume ownership of the systems you grow.

• Voice AI Interest: You are curious about the challenges of audio, speech-to-text, and real-time conversation.

• Clear Communication: You can help the team weigh the tradeoffs between various AI approaches to choose the best path.

• AI-Augmented Development: You actively embrace AI tools (e.g. Cursor, Claude, etc) to accelerate your workflows and believe in leveraging them to write better code faster.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Local to Los Angeles strongly preferred (on-site/hybrid)

• Previous experience shipping AI features that drove significant customer value.

• Experience in Healthcare or Healthcare-adjacent domains.

Base Compensation: $150,000-185,000
