- Proven experience writing beauty coverage and product reviews
- Strong product-testing methodology and attention to detail
- Comfortable working on tight deadlines and managing multiple stakeholders
- Familiarity with ecommerce, retail promotions, and deal reporting
- Ability to write with the Strategist’s tone—clear, service-oriented, and witty
Responsibilities
- Pitch, write, and edit short and long-form beauty stories and reviews from The Strategist’s editorial perspective
- Continuously test new beauty releases and surface actionable product recommendations
- Monitor beauty news and social media to identify trends and breaking stories
- Contribute to the weekly Beauty Brief newsletter and collaborate with editorial and commerce teams
- Support coverage and production during major sales events (e.g., Prime Day, Black Friday/Cyber Weekend) and work flexible hours during tentpole events
Education
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required if equivalent newsroom experience is demonstrated
- Strong portfolio of published beauty journalism and product reviews
