ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB’s Raleigh, NC team is looking for a Transportation Co-op. The successful candidate will have a diverse interest in transportation, an enthusiasm for working in a team environment, and a willingness to explore creative solutions to traditional challenges.

Co-op terms generally run from January - June 2026.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with numerous VHB staff, clients, and consultants to advance projects in a timely manner
• Assist in development of planning and engineering solutions
• Assist in data mining and visualization
• Perform analysis of data or calculations
• Perform field data collection and other on-site project support activities
• Prepare written documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reports
• Perform all job functions in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and VHB policies and procedures. 

Skills and Attributes

• Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
• Team-oriented with strong capability to work independently.
• Strong prioritization skills. 
• Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail oriented. 
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. 
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or master’s degree in civil engineering, planning, or related field.
