Responsibilities
- Triage, stabilize, and manage emergency medical and surgical cases across all shifts
- Perform emergency soft-tissue surgeries and critical procedures as needed
- Communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and prognosis clearly with pet owners
- Collaborate with technicians and support staff to ensure efficient patient flow
- Maintain accurate medical records and document treatments, surgeries, and outcomes
- Participate in hospital meetings, huddles, and staff development activities
- Provide mentorship and clinical guidance to support staff and early-career clinicians
- Preserve a positive patient- and employee-centered culture aligned with VEG values
Education
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent
- State licensure to practice veterinary medicine in California
