Job Description Summary
The Finance Director is a senior individual contributor role responsible for leading key components of financial planning, reporting, and performance analysis for CareMore Health. This position plays a critical role in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and management reporting, supporting informed decision-making and financial sustainability within CareMore’s mission-driven, risk-bearing model of care.
How will you make an impact & Requirements
Financial Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting
Lead the development and coordination of CareMore’s annual operating budget, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial plans for assigned functions, markets, or lines of business.
Develop and maintain financial models that reflect membership trends, utilization, reimbursement, and cost drivers.
Partner with operational and functional leaders to validate assumptions and ensure alignment between financial plans and operational realities.
Support cash flow forecasting and scenario planning as inputs to leadership decision-making.
Financial Reporting & Performance Analysis
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and management dashboards.
Conduct detailed variance analysis versus budget, forecast, and prior periods; identify drivers and explain results clearly to stakeholders.
Develop actionable insights and recommendations to improve financial and operational performance.
Respond to ad-hoc analytical requests from leadership related to performance, cost management, and growth initiatives.
Contract, Risk & Growth Support
Support financial modeling and evaluation of payer contracts, value-based risk arrangements, and reimbursement structures.
Analyze financial implications of new programs, market expansions, and care model enhancements.
Partner with clinical, actuarial, and operational teams to assess financial risk and sustainability at the program or market level.
Collaboration, Governance & Process Improvement
Serve as a trusted finance partner to operational and functional leaders, providing clear and timely financial insight.
Ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of financial data and reporting.
Support internal controls, financial policies, and standard reporting processes.
Identify opportunities to improve financial models, reporting tools, and planning processes.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required; MBA or CPA preferred.
7–10 years of progressive experience in finance, FP&A, or financial analysis; healthcare experience strongly preferred.
Experience supporting value-based or risk-bearing healthcare models is a plus.
Knowledge & Skills
Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis.
Working knowledge of healthcare finance, including payer contracts and utilization drivers.
Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial reporting and planning systems.
Ability to synthesize complex financial information into clear, actionable insights.
Strong communication and stakeholder-partnership skills.
