Job Details:
This is a fixed term position with the earliest start date of November 1, 2025. This position is expected to continue through October 31, 2026, with possibility of renewing for another year, conditional on performance and availability of funding.
The overarching clinical research program is aimed at improving our understanding of how the brain supports speech and language processes and how personalized speech and language interventions improve communication in those diagnosed with neurodegenerative diseases.
This position is needed to ensure we have the appropriate expertise in speech-language pathology for an NIH-funded project focused on multi-modal communication in PPA. The research speech-language pathologist will support an ongoing research project
Conduct participant screening, assessment, and treatment for studies examining the nature and management of progressive aphasia and related disorders speakers.
Database management and generation of reports and presentations and contribute to manuscripts from research findings. Work closely with the PIs to manage the laboratory including training of incoming personnel.
Assist with reporting of study findings to relevant funding sources, ensure data and reports are being maintained and updated.
Supervise undergraduate research assistants and their respective duties towards data collection and research projects in the lab. Ensure that master’s students are completing required steps for data collection and that data are not missing from each time point.
Other duties as assigned
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
Extremely strong oral and written proficiency in Spanish
Prior experience providing assessment and treatment in Spanish to individuals with communication disorders
Active ASHA certification
Strong proficiency with computer applications, such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Qualtrics, Smartsheet, Zoom, Redcap and Outlook
Ability to take initiative in working both independently and in cooperation with others
Extremely strong organizational skills
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Direct experience providing assessment and treatment to individuals presenting with a communication disorder caused by a neurodegenerative syndrome
Experience working with linguistic corpora
Previous experience working in a research laboratory
Prior experience running statistical analyses
Prior research experience in aphasia, dementia, or bilingualism
$68,000 + depending on qualifications
Typical office environment or research lab.
Please note availability will be needed on a variable basis from 8am-6pm depending on needs.
