General Notes

The Department of Pediatrics is looking for a Research Engineering Scientist Assistant. This is a one-year fixed term position, renewable based upon availability of funding, work performance, and progress toward research goals. This is grant funded position with an end date of 7/31/26 and renewable based upon availability of funding.

Purpose

To assist NIH-funded research project and to perform wet-lab experiments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tissue culture including organoid culture and related molecular and biochemical analysis.

  • Assist with mouse maintenance and experiments (colony management, embryo collection, genotyping).

  • Miscellaneous work (including checking lab inventory and package management).

  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with some wet lab experience.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Salary Range

$32,000+ depending on qualifications

Working Conditions

  • Uniforms and/or personal protection equipment (furnished)

  • May work in extreme temperatures

  • May work around chemical fumes

  • May work around biohazards

  • May work around chemicals

  • Occasional weekend, overtime and evening work to meet deadlines
