- Proven investor relations leadership at a public company, preferably in B2B, SaaS, or marketplace businesses.
- Strong knowledge of capital markets, valuation, and financial modeling with ability to translate complex data into clear narratives.
- Excellent presentation, writing, and media communication skills with polished executive presence.
- Cross-functional collaboration with Finance, Legal, Communications, and Product teams.
- Comfort with roadshows, conference presentations, and one-on-one investor engagements.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic investor relations program that articulates Upwork’s vision, strategy, and financial performance.
- Craft investor messaging and materials aligned with company priorities, market trends, and competitive positioning.
- Partner with the CFO and executive team on earnings preparation, scripts, Q&A, press releases, and guidance.
- Serve as primary spokesperson to investors, analysts, and financial media, presenting with clarity and executive presence.
- Build and maintain relationships with existing and prospective institutional investors and long-term shareholders.
- Manage investor relations infrastructure including earnings workflows, roadshows, conferences, and data systems.
- Conduct competitor and market intelligence analysis and surface actionable insights for leadership.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field preferred.
- MBA or advanced degree is preferred but not required.
