Job Description
The ideal candidate for this position should have;
- 1+ year nursing experience
- BLS
- Maryland Board of Nursing RN license
Join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals as a Registered Nurse II in our Medical-Surgical unit at 3 South in Baltimore, United States. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans for medical-surgical patients
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor and document patients' conditions, vital signs, and responses to treatments
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records
- Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Respond promptly to patient calls and address their needs
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and unit-based committees
- Mentor and support new nurses and nursing students
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical-surgical nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of medical-surgical nursing practices
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Experience with wound care and medication administration
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift patients, and move medical equipment
