BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY:
Maintains liaison on behalf of the Board of Regents and the Board Office with the universities, the executive branch, the general assembly, students and the general public. Maintains liaison with stakeholders in all areas of importance to the Iowa Board of Regents. Assists in the development and implementation of public policy as deem appropriate by the Board. Advances the Board of Regents’ legislative agenda. Serve as a project team leader or project member on special assignments as assigned by the Executive Director. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as qualifications permit.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Supervision is received from the Executive Director, Board of Regents, State of Iowa.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
Functional supervision may be exercised over support staff or others in specific areas when serving as project team leader.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least five years experience in positions requiring analytical skills appropriate to the specific position. Master’s degree or higher preferred. Considerable knowledge of governmental affairs, the Iowa legislative procedures and regulations including the statutory governance authority and role of the Board of Regents, State of Iowa is required.
Appropriate background checks (e.g. criminal background and credential checks) will be conducted.
