The ED Paramedic, who meets the formal education and clinical experience required by the Massachusetts Board of state licensing for Paramedics, and has successfully passed the paramedic exam, will work under the direction of the Emergency Department Director. The ED Paramedic work in collaboration with the registered nurses and other members of the Emergency Department care team providing direct patient care while working within their scope of practice.I. 4. (EMT-P) Massachusetts Paramedic Certification
Experience/Skills:
Required:
1. A minimum of 1 year, (2 years preferred) of experience working in the field as a Paramedic with a certified EMS company.
Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
Department-specific competencies and their measurements will be developed and maintained in the individual departments. The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description. Responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents.
