Our Client

Leader in pediatric and family mental health, offering coaching, therapy, prescriptions, and intensive outpatient care. The company is preparing for major launches in collaboration with Lyra, including a 1-1 shared service, and is expanding its engineering capacity to support growth.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Tech Lead / Engineering Manager who is both hands-on and able to manage a small team. This person will be the primary point of contact, lead technical execution, and help scale the team. They will also actively write code while managing and mentoring two senior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a small engineering squad (2 Full-Stack Engineers).

• Write production-quality code alongside the team.

• Own backend (Ruby) and frontend (React + TypeScript) development.

• Collaborate with the Product team to refine requirements and tickets.

• Drive the adoption of automation and ensure high-quality deliverables.

• Act as the primary interface with Bend Health leadership.

Qualifications and Job Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience.

• Strong background in Ruby (backend).

• Proficiency in React + TypeScript (frontend).

• Experience with AWS, Postgres, Kubernetes.

• Familiarity with end-to-end automation (Playwright preferred).

• Proven experience managing and mentoring engineers.

• Startup mindset: proactive, low ego, collaborative, business-aware.

• Comfortable wearing multiple hats and thinking beyond tickets.
