Skills
- Design and implementation of network protocols and distributed systems
- Proficiency in lower-level programming languages (Rust, C++, Java)
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, gRPC and networking fundamentals
- Experience with peer-to-peer technologies (libp2p) and real-time communication systems
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with streaming and messaging systems (Kafka)
- Experience with observability and search technologies (Elasticsearch, monitoring)
- Ability to research, prototype, and productionize protocol designs
- Excellent written and verbal communication and documentation skills
Responsibilities
- Architect and build highly scalable, reliable distributed systems integrating multiple data sources
- Design, research, and productionize proprietary network and blockchain protocols (client-server and P2P)
- Optimize protocol behaviors including message passing, consensus, synchronization, and fault tolerance
- Build and maintain performant production systems from design through deployment
- Work across the stack (databases, caches, application code, deployment pipelines) to resolve end-to-end technical challenges
- Drive innovation in P2P networking, libp2p, block propagation, chain re-org detection, and network observability
- Mentor engineers and lead code and design reviews
- Collaborate cross-functionally with data scientists, product managers, and designers
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
- Graduate degree in CS or related field preferred but not required
