- Expertise in GraphQL schema design, resolver implementation, and query optimization
- Modern frontend proficiency with React, Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS
- Deep PostgreSQL knowledge: schema design, indexing, query optimization, transactions
- Experience with event-driven/distributed systems, message brokers, and eventual consistency
- Production ownership: observability, error handling, debugging distributed systems
- Technical leadership: RFCs, architectural docs, code review standards
- Strong communication and ability to make pragmatic trade-offs
Responsibilities
- Set technical direction for full-stack architecture and influence API, frontend, and reliability patterns
- Own end-to-end feature development from Postgres schema design through GraphQL APIs to Next.js UI
- Establish reusable patterns for GraphQL schema design, React component architecture, state management, and API/UI coupling
- Partner with product and design to translate trader needs into technical solutions balancing UX and system constraints
- Drive architectural improvements during modernization, including migration toward event-driven microservices
- Lead initiatives that improve developer experience, system performance, and code quality
- Mentor engineers on best practices, architectural thinking, and production ownership
- Embed testing, monitoring, and operational practices into shipped features
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred or equivalent professional experience
- Graduate degree optional and considered a plus but not required
