About The Athletic Clubs

The Athletic Clubs (AC) are New York City’s fittest social clubs. From day one, our squad/cohort training model has ensured that social connection is inherent to our product—not an add-on, but the core.

Because of the consistent, organic interactions created through our squads, members naturally form deep ties that extend far beyond the gym floor. The results speak for themselves:

  • Members have organized 400-person ski trips and Hamptons summers with five houses.
  • We host member retreats, industry workshops, and speaker series.
  • Our ecosystem includes a curated job board, sub-leasing portal, and event groups for HYROX, marathons, triathlons, and more.

With six thriving locations today and funding secured to expand to 15 clubs by the end of 2026, AC is building the next generation of urban social clubs—where fitness is the foundation but the connections, opportunities, and experiences are what keep members coming back.

Our vision is bold: to become New York’s answer to the Soho House model—but built on movement, health, and shared ambition instead of nightlife. We believe the modern city-dweller doesn’t just want a place to work out. They want a tribe, a platform for connection, and a gateway to experiences they can’t find anywhere else.

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Membership Executive to join our leadership team and own the vision, strategy, and execution of our membership experience. This is a high-impact role with equity upside and a competitive salary, designed for an entrepreneurial operator who thrives at the intersection of community, lifestyle, and brand building.

At its core, this role is 80% about building and scaling the social fabric of The Athletic Clubs—expanding the organic community that already drives member loyalty and growth. The other 20% is partnerships that enhance that social engine: partnerships that bring value to members, create memorable events, and then secondarily generate sponsorship revenue.

You’ll scale our membership portal, events, and partnerships to deepen engagement, while being at the tip of the spear for social-first, revenue-enhancing partner events that both elevate the brand and unlock new growth.

Key Responsibilities

Community & Membership Experience (80%)

  • Build and scale the AC membership experience to reinforce our identity as NYC’s fittest social club.
  • Develop programs that fuel social connection: retreats, industry workshops, speaker events, job board, subleasing portal, and member-led trips.
  • Curate and expand our event calendar across squads, clubs, and interest groups (HYROX, marathon, triathlon teams, etc.).
  • Ensure our membership portal, communications, and touchpoints keep members consistently engaged and connected.

Partnerships & Sponsorships (20%)

  • Forge partnerships that add value to the member experience first, with sponsorship as a secondary benefit.
  • Lead social-first partner events with NYC’s leading lifestyle, wellness, and hospitality brands.
  • Design frameworks for collaborations that elevate the community and create cultural relevance while unlocking new growth.
  • Leadership & Cross-Functional Work
  • Partner with marketing to tell the AC community story authentically
  • Collaborate with operations, coaching, and tech to align membership growth with overall business strategy.
  • Report directly to the CEO as a core member of the leadership team.
  • 7–10+ years in membership, hospitality, lifestyle, or community-driven businesses (fitness, hospitality, private clubs, or premium consumer brands preferred).
  • Proven success designing and scaling membership programs or community-driven models.
  • Track record in experiential marketing, event programming, and revenue-generating brand partnerships.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to operate at both strategic and executional levels.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with appetite for ownership and equity participation.
  • Passion for fitness, wellness, and building connections that go beyond the workout.
