Staff Product Designer, Observability
Skills
- 6+ years designing digital products with experience in data-heavy UIs or dashboards
- Strong proficiency in Figma and creating high/low fidelity prototypes
- Experience designing data visualizations and time-series interfaces
- Familiarity with design systems and creating reusable UI components
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG Level AA 2.1) and inclusive design
- Excellent collaboration and communication with engineering and product teams
- Comfort working in fast-paced, open-source and cloud-native environments
Responsibilities
- Lead design of observability, analytics, and insights experiences across open-source and Temporal Cloud
- Design intuitive interfaces and visualizations for time-series metrics, workflow traces, and execution histories
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers to plan, validate, and iterate on scope and delivery
- Conduct user research with developers, platform engineers, and operations teams to inform designs
- Create low/high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes to validate concepts with users
- Establish design patterns and scalable design system components for data-heavy interfaces
- Ensure accessibility and compliance with WCAG Level AA 2.1 standards
Education
- No formal education required — demonstrated experience and portfolio prioritized
- Relevant professional design experience in product, UX, or visual design
