Senior Software Engineer, Release Engineering
Skills
- Experience designing and operating release engineering, build, or deployment systems at scale.
- Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages, ideally Go.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerized deployments.
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline design and build tooling.
- Familiarity with major cloud providers (AWS or GCP) and production distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of operating systems, networking, and release automation best practices.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and ownership mindset.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end design and implementation of release automation systems and workflows.
- Develop and maintain build tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment workflows to ensure safe, repeatable releases.
- Automate release qualification, hotfix, and scheduled release processes using Temporal workflows.
- Operate and own production release infrastructure and participate in on-call rotations.
- Document system designs, runbooks, and operational procedures for maintainability and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to evolve release processes and integrate feedback loops to reduce manual intervention.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Relevant industry certifications or practical experience in cloud/DevOps toolchains accepted in lieu of formal degree.
