Senior Engineering Manager, Release Engineering
Skills
- Proven leadership of software engineering teams in infrastructure/platform or release domains.
- Strong experience designing and operating CI/CD, build pipelines, and release automation.
- Practical knowledge of Kubernetes, containerized deployments, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP).
- Programming experience in Go or other modern languages for tooling and automation.
- Familiarity with workflow orchestration systems (Temporal a strong plus).
- Focus on reliability, automation, observability, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Manage, mentor, and grow a team of release engineers responsible for build, CI/CD, and release systems.
- Define goals and metrics for release reliability, velocity, and automation improvements.
- Architect and oversee implementation of automation that orchestrates the full release lifecycle (using Temporal).
- Drive consistency and safety across build systems, pipelines, and deployment workflows.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, Cloud, and Product teams to improve release readiness and reduce operational risk.
- Own operational outcomes, observability, documentation, and reusable frameworks for scaling delivery systems.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) preferred but not required.
