JOIN TARGET CYBERSECURITY AS A DIRECTOR OF PRODUCT MANAGEMENT

About Us

Working at Target means helping all families discover the joy of everyday life. We bring that vision to life through our values and culture. Learn more about Target here.

Target’s Cyber Defense organization is at the forefront of protecting the enterprise from emerging digital threats. At the heart of this effort is the Cyber Fusion Center—a hub of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning. Here, our teams design and build solutions to safeguard Target’s team members, guests, data, and business operations across a rapidly evolving threat landscape. We are expanding our investment in defending against fraud and abuse—an area critical to the security, trust, and long-term success of Target. Whether it’s preventing fraudulent transactions, stopping abusive automation, or protecting our digital and physical guest experiences, this work demands bold vision, cross-functional partnership, and a data-driven product mindset.

About You

As Director of Product for Fraud and Abuse, you’ll lead the product team responsible for developing and delivering Target’s enterprise fraud defense strategy. You will set the vision and priorities for fraud defense capabilities, develop roadmaps that scale across channels, and ensure alignment with Cyber Defense and enterprise security goals.

Product teams at Target are accountable for delivering business outcomes through products that are intuitive, reliable, and built with long-term value in mind. Our product operating model emphasizes shared backlogs, cross-functional alignment, measurable outcomes, and continuous iteration. As a senior product leader, you will coach and grow product managers, shape portfolio-level strategy, and clearly communicate impact to partners across business, security, legal, engineering, and executive teams. You will drive product discovery with key stakeholders to validate hypotheses and concepts with customers before committing engineering time, as you lead highly complex work across multiple pyramids, with interrelated specialties. You will leverage data and analytics to provide competitive analysis, drive decision making, assess the health and effectiveness of your products and related P&L impacts, and to deliver recommendations to key stakeholders.

It will be critical that you possess an understanding of retail or similar areas, relevant technologies, and design principles in order to drive innovative and scalable solutions across multiple pyramids within Target.

Core responsibilities of this job are described within this job description. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.

Qualifications:

  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience

  • 10+ years of total work experience, with a strong track record of driving strategy, enabling successful teams, and delivering impactful business outcomes

  • Minimum of 5 years leading, growing, and developing teams, with demonstrated success in building collaborative, high-performing, and purpose-driven product organizations

  • At least 5 years of active product management experience applying the product operating model—including setting vision, defining OKRs, prioritizing outcomes, and driving discovery and delivery through iterative development

  • Proven ability to enable and coach product managers to create enterprise-wide strategies, aligned to business objectives and executed through effective change management

  • Strong interest in fraud patterns, abuse vectors, and digital threat mitigation, especially in retail, consumer, or digital ecosystems

  • Demonstrated ability to story tell and articulate ROI on critical projects to gain alignment and accelerate change across the enterprise

  • Skilled at influencing diverse stakeholders, including senior executives, engineering, operations, legal, compliance, and business partners

  • Proficient in agile methodologies and product development frameworks (e.g., user stories, sprint cycles, backlog grooming, personas)

  • Strategic thinker with a bias for action—able to translate complex problems into clear product strategies and deliver measurable results
