What We Want
The Student Development Specialist III is responsible for investigations of student behavior which assist in the resolution of student conduct cases, student organization conduct cases and other office initiatives, services, and projects. Tasks include understanding the student conduct code, student organization manual and rules; serving as an investigator; assisting with office assessment; assisting with office presentations and trainings; and the creation, development, and implementation of educational workshops and sanctions for student organizations. This position will also participate as a member of the Department of Student Community Standards task forces and committees as assigned.

Responsibilities
Student Conduct Investigations: Develop investigation plans for each assigned investigation & collaborate with a trained staff member as a co-investigator while conducting the investigation assigned in a timely manner. Coordinate consultation efforts by contacting involved parties as appropriate, provide information regarding the investigation process, and conduct interviews. Gather and secure relevant information through interviews with parties involved and witnesses, as well as other pertinent documentation. Create and maintain thorough records and notes of the investigation process. Provide detailed and unbiased reports of the findings of the investigation to the Director of Student Community Standards or designee in a timely manner. Additionally, assist with the retention of investigation reports.
Investigation Coordination: Coordinates the assignments and scheduling of all investigations. Secures available dates from all student conduct investigators, assigns two investigators for each investigation. Initiates the initial meeting for each investigation and manages program databases and files. These databases include: Compass, Howdy, CMCR, Investigation Tracking Database and Laserfiche. Serves as a consult for all investigators throughout each investigation. Serves as the liaison with the Civil Rights and Title IX Office, Department of Student Activities, Corps of Cadets, and other offices as necessary for investigations.
Risk Management: Stay current on trends in student conduct and new legislation, state laws, federal requirements, and national standards relating to student conduct. Work with supervisor to create and maintain professional development plan, this may include utilizing campus trainings and/or attending professional conferences directly affiliated with job responsibilities.
University/Division/Department Duties: Serves as a representative on Department, Division, and University committees and task forces, at events, and to department stakeholders as assigned. Attends, presents, and actively engages in Department and Division meetings, training, and functions. Interprets and participates in the development of university and departmental rules and procedures, while also assisting in the establishment of short-term and long-term goals and strategic planning for investigations. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three years' experience in student affairs work or related specialty with two years of experience in Student Affairs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree.
One or more years of experience working in Student Conduct.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
