Primary duties and responsibilities (Pursuant to current Teacher Expectations and Guidelines):

  • Ensure classroom safety standards are met at all times.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special needs in classroom settings.
  • Assist students with daily activities, including academic work, personal care, and social interactions.
  • Work under the direction of a certified Special Educator to provide students with 1:1 or small group instruction.
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and accommodations/modifications as needed.
  • Observe and document students' progress and behavior, communicating observations to teachers and parents/guardians.
  • Support students during transitions between activities and classes, helping them stay focused and organized.
  • Use teaching aids and adaptive equipment to facilitate learning and maximize independence for students.
  • Promote inclusion and create a safe and welcoming environment for all students.
  • Lead club activities on Fridays
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Training/Employment Requirements:

Associates of Arts or equivalent or approved Paraprofessional Certification assessment

Environmental Conditions: Collaborative open environment, typical office setting

Hours for this role are 7:30 am - 4:00 pm Monday through Friday
