The Senior Project Manager - Facilities Planning is responsible for managing the programming, planning, design, and execution of large/complex projects as assigned under the Facilities Services Project Management Office, in particular construction, renovations and infrastructure upgrades. This role involves planning projects from conception to completion, managing budgets and timelines, collaborating with stakeholders like architects and contractors, and ensuring projects align with strategic goals, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements. Additionally, the Senior Project Manager acts as a liaison between the client/users and all other project participants, including consultants, contractors, vendors, and outside jurisdictional agencies. This role is also responsible for planning, scheduling, assigning, and overseeing the work of project participants and other assigned resources.

* As guided by project plan and business objectives, manages, plans, and executes complex projects. Leads large project team, adapting project plans and priorities to meet short-term service, business and/or operational objective ensuring the completion of projects within budget, on schedule, and meeting all program objectives.
* Develops and presents business cases to obtain project sponsorship, budget and resource allocation. Defines project scope, delegates tasks, develops project plans, manages contractors/vendors, and coordinates communications, as needed
* Coordinates project impacts, develops project deliverables, develop financial and project management reports (project status dashboards, issues and risks, etc.). Identifies and resolves complex technical, operational and organizational problems applying critical thinking to recommend standards and operating strategies that mitigate risk and propel growth.
* Communicates project updates to team members, stakeholders and sponsors on a regular and timely basis ensuring that all project participants are informed of project status, problems, and required actions.
* Manages the review and approval process to ensure appropriate approvals of all projects from conception through implementation and related field changes and changes in scope from multiple stakeholders (e.g. Space Planning, Facilities, IS, UIT, IPC, EH&S, Supply Chain, clinical staff, ARC, PD&C) and/or jurisdictional authorities such as City of Palo Alto, HCAI.
* Builds consensus in leading projects and activities across teams providing leadership, coordination, and support to the project team, vendors, and others supporting the project.
* Provides direction to project staff based on organizational goals and policies. Acts as an advisor and subject matter expert on HCAI projects, providing leadership, expertise, coordination, and support to other complex projects that require jurisdictional approvals.
* Approves and executes improvements to operating policies and procedures, guidelines, and standards for teams. Identifies and drives business, product, service and process improvements and may act as a department representative on committees and professional organizations.
* Implements quality control measures to ensure project compliance with department/hospital policies and government codes and regulations. Ensures conformance to the requirements of all project participants.
Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
* Education: Bachelor's degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university.
* Experience: Seven (7) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience

Pay Range
Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role.
Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.
Minimum to Midpoint Range (Hourly): $67.80 to $89.91
